Stomud was made for ‘100 ideas for the new Rijksmuseum’ competition.Having pass an internal round of selection made in IED Madrid university to compete within two other renown universities, its concept was awarded with the first prize by the Rijkstudio jury, having Irma Boom as one of the judging panelist in El Matadero, Madrid.

Following the brief call to reinterpretate through design one of the museum masterpieces collection, the concept took inspiration from “Winterlandscape with ice skaters” by Hendrick Avercamp.

In the artwork Dutch culture can be read through its brushes and historical context. A strong tie with cheese and an ancient history of ice-skating blend together to inspire this cheese blade for the gift shop.
